Pedro Paulo Araújo (b. Fortaleza, Brazil) is a filmmaker and screenwriter whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and transformation through striking visual storytelling. Raised across seven countries, his global perspective shapes films that blend documentary and fiction, science and poetry.

His short films, including Blur, The Hidden, and Alheio, have screened at international festivals and received recognition from institutions such as the Academy of American Poets. In 2019, he co-wrote Junoon, one of Saudi Arabia’s first horror features, which premiered at the Red Sea International Film Festival and was later acquired by Netflix. In 2023, he was selected for the Cine Qua Non Lab with his screenplay Telegram. He also received director mentorship from Palme d’Or-winning director Cristian Mungiu.

With a background in music videos, Pedro has directed work for global artists such as J Balvin, Prince Royce, and Becky G, amassing billions of views on YouTube. He currently works part-time in acquisitions attending various film markets including Cannes, Berlin and TIFF. In 2025, he served as a jury member at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF).

He is a member of Projeto Paradiso Talents and recently co-wrote a screenplay with Brazilian actor-director Selton Mello.
